The New Ferrari F2008 Is Unveiled

f2008.jpg

Ferrari has officially launched its 2008 challenger which is to be called the F2008. The first preview images show a relatively traditional swooping front wing as well as a fairly standard rear element. Undoubtedly new model on display will undergo further aerodynamic enhancements ahead of the season opener in Melbourne.

The sidepods do however appear visibly changed over its predecessor with a raised front aspect with various aero additions to the front aimed to create maximum cooling efficiency as well as the all-important flow of air around the car.

At the gathering F1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen was clear about his targets for 2008: win both titles. “The experience I gained last year makes me more comfortable for the upcoming year. The new F2008 has many innovations. The loss of traction control will make the car more difficult to race with. It will require us to change our racing style but should never really be a problem.“We are ready for the upcoming season and with Felipe Massa I have a great team-mate at Ferrari. We are ready to fight until the end in order to clinch both titles.”

Speaking about the F2008 Felipe Massa said: “Seeing the car for the first time is like welcoming a boy in a family. It is important to work to make him grow in the best way.

“The first impression of the car is that it is really beautiful. Just like every other Ferrari. But that is not enough. The looks are important, but the performance and the reliability are even more important. The team has to work to make the car immediately fast and reliable. We have to do some more work on it before the first race and we want to check its performance before we make any further comments.”

Massa further said: “The most important thing is what we reach by the end of the year. 2007 was really great. I won races, but I also had some problems, which cost me some precious points. We have to learn from that and try to win again. I am really motivated; the team is absolutely fantastic. I’m married now and I turned into a man and I am more serious now. I am ready to fight. More than ever.”
