Double world champion Fernando Alonso climbed back in a Renault Formula 1 car for the first time since 2006. At Circuito de Jerez, Alonso completed his first laps in the R27 just after 09.00. Alonso will be completing his test programme with the team on Tuesday and Wednesday. Alonso and Renault will focus today’s programme on getting used to the car and driving without driver aids. He also showed his new helmet to the gathered photographers in Jerez. When he moved from Renault to McLaren last year his helmet changed to the colours of the McLaren team, but the Spanish colours are now back on the Spaniard’s helmet.
